Investigating Global Pre-modernity
Investigating Global Pre-modernity is in its second year! All meetings this semester will be held in Old Library 251, 3:30 to 5 p.m.
in Fall 2025 at least a week in advance of the date to be sure you receive materials for it.

Register here IGPM showcases, promotes, and encourages in-progress research by faculty and graduate (and advanced undergraduate) students on any aspect of the ancient world. A scholar leads each 90-minute meeting. One week prior, the conveners circulate (a portion of) the scholars ongoing project to registered attendees. Attendees read the project prior to the meeting, and at the meeting, the leader briefly summarizes their work, including the genesis and trajectory of their project and any issuesalready overcome or still loomingthat have arisen in the course of their work on it. The remainder of the time is dedicated to group discussion about the project: we troubleshoot, make suggestions, and cheer each other on.
